Job Description
As an Automotive Field Application Engineer, you will bridge our R&D teams and customers, delivering technical expertise and on-site support.
You’ll demonstrate our products, provide solutions, and ensure customer success through hands-on technical leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead technical demonstrations and on-site product implementations;
* Support data collection, software testing and quality assurance processes;
* Provide expert-level customer support and troubleshooting;
* Drive communication between customers and internal R&D teams;
* Develop and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs);
* Represent company at trade shows and technical conferences;
* Analyze customer requirements and architect solutions;
* Create technical documentation and training materials;
* You will keep yourself up to date with In-cabin regulations and new trends in automotive sensors to help drive the requirements for new Sony products.
Qualification
Technical Requirements
* 3+ years experience in automotive software, preferably at TIER1 or OEM level
* Camera-based systems and In-cabin sensing experience is a plus
* Good knowledge of C++ and Python
* Proven experience in computer vision and machine learning applications
* Advanced debugging and problem-solving capabilities
* Experience with product deployment and customer support
Professional Skills
* Excellent technical communication and presentation abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving orientation
* Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods (3-6 months)
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of automotive standards (ASPICE, ISO26262)
* Experience with technical workshop facilitation
* Background in software development or testing
* Understanding of automotive industry workflows
