Sony Depthsensing Solutions is looking for an IC Logic Team Leader to work on automotive sensor designs and architectures in their Brussels location.

This leadership position is part of an advanced technology team which is enabling the next generation of image sensors.  The successful candidate will bring his deep knowledge and proven experience in sensor design to yield the highest quality of first silicon success. Your main focus will be to manage the IC Design Digital team.

Responsibilities

Your role will be to focus on mentoring a sub-team of engineers inside the IC digital design team and coach the members to achieve quality and deliverables in time. The responsibility of the team covers the full lifecycle of a typical IC project from design feasibility phase to support reaching mass production, including specifications, design, verification and evaluation.

 

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the following matters:

  • Responsibiliy of your team: together with the team manager, you will be responsible for technically coaching and assisting your team members assigned to each CTQ project and to deliver tasks with the right quality and timing as expected from the project description.
  • Contribute to problem solving with your team. Drive flow and methodology improvements to maximize the efficiency of your team.
  • Define, implement and maintain the necessary tools to support the activities of your team.
  • Management of the team members: plan the assignment of the team members, manage the competences inside the team, evaluate the performance, and perform hiring when needed.
  • Co-operation with the other SDS teams in context of the project.
  • In-depth collaboration with the relevant Sony teams in Europe and Japan, including traveling.

During the execution of your tasks, you will regularly follow-up and report status-updates to the IC Logic Design Manager.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Micro-Electronic Engineering, Physics
  • PhD in relevant domain, or similar by experience, is an asset.

Experience:

  • You have more than 5 years’ experience in the IC digital design domain.
  • Experience in automotive product development is a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge on IC Digital design, knowledge or experience in the domain of image sensors is a plus.
  • Methodologies and Tools for IC Logic Design and Test.
  • R&D development process flow of IC sensors.
  • QMS knowledge and practical experience with ISO 9001 in context of IC design. Knowledge about automotive or other specific standards is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).

  • Able to set direction and objectives for a team and individuals and to assess the progress.
  • Strong commitment to deliver quality by yourself and with your team.
  • Be able to work independently as part of a team.
  • Motivated to work in an international R&D environment.
  • Able to quickly adapt to new situations / technologies.
  • Passionate about technology and innovations, creative.
  • Analytical mind, structured and rigorous approach, with a sense for detail.
  • Fluent in English, enjoys being the team’s spokesperson.
  • To-the-point (technical) reporting skills.
  • Japanese language skills is a plus.
